WWE on June 13

Ok...let me write something this time that is not about future of our career or life :-)
It is all about the trip to a city nearby my house to see the WWE matches...
Last tuesday (june 13th) myself and two of my friends were all geared up to see the WWE Wrestling matches....i am a die-hard fan for wresting and had started seeing WWE in TV almost after 4 years....
We had booked the ticket about 2 months earlier to get a seat nearby the ring...and infact we got a seat in 9th row from ring...it was hardly 30 feet from the ring...
It was a working day and the show was scheduled to begin at 7.30 PM...I thought i can start from my office by about 4.30 PM so that i can reach home by 5.15PM and start back to WWE Arena to reach there by 7 PM...
But i couldnt start by 4.30 PM that evening, my friend with whom i go home by car had some system issues and he was busy solving that....we finally started by 5.15 PM and chose a route to go home in which we have to pay toll...(there is another route that takes us to home but it would be more congested in evenings)...
ooshhh....the route we took was more congested than ever and the car was literally moving at 10 mph....reached home by 6.20 PM...and my friends were already waiting for (and would have been cursing ;-) ) me for coming late....we started from home by 6.30 PM...
the route was much more congested than the earlier route...
on the way the fuel indicator showed that no fuel is there and we had another good 20 miles to cover....with that indicator on, the car would run for another 5 miles....and we started searching for gas station....finally we found one near our penultimate 3rd mile :-)))
filled the gas there and we started our trip to WWE again :-)
totally it took another 1.30 hours for us to reach the arena...
After reaching the arena, we were searching for the car parking and got it at almost a mile from the arena...
Parking charges were $6 for the event, and whola!!! we all had a combined strength of just $4 :-)))
that parking guy said that is ok and got just that $4 and gave a parking ticket....Avar Vaazhga...
after parking the car by 8.15 PM, we were just thinking of how to walk back to the arena which is about a mile and we are already late by 45 minutes...then we saw a bus starting from the parking lot to the arena...thank god...we sat there and reached the arena within 2 minutes...
Well....We entered arena and we didnt have any money/ anything to drink or eat....
we entered the stadium and could see the ring in the middle with a guy beating another with baseball bat...blood was spilling through....we were wondering if we came to see this kind of wresting...and that too the environment not as same as we used to see in TV....
then we came to know that it was WWE ECW going on...it is a type of wrestling in which horrible ways can be used to hit a guy...our scheuled show was WWE smackdown where all the supestarts we wanted to see would come...it started by around 8.30 PM ...thank god it started late by 1 hour....because we were also late by 1 hour.... :-)))
The whole setting changed for WWE Smackdown...with good lighting and only by then i turned and saw the crowd...it was huge...too huge...around 12000 people sitting/standing/dancing and shouting like a hell....
they were the scenes we used to see in tv and dream of sitting in such stadiums....and man....that day had come....what day it was!!!
the arena was mostly occupied by kids of age group not more than 8 or 9....
The matches started then....
the first match was between Kurt Angle(1996 Olympic medal winner from US) and a ordinary guy.second match was between Rey Mysterio(one of our heroes) and Gregory Holmes(Ordinary guy)
Ordinary guy in WWE language means that he is not a superstar and not a guy to be remembered :-)
Our hero won the match....
in between my friend found an atm in the arena itself and we took some money to buy some fries and coke...
Then came the comedy man King Booker....
We were shouting like anything and dancing near the seats...
the total noise in the arena was awesome and one could not hear the near by guy's speech....
then came the great Khale(he is from India and he is 7 feet tall).... :-( )
also "big show" came(he is also 7 feet tall)....
finally the man we all wanted to see....THE UNDERTAKER came....
no one really knew that he was going to come....
all on a sudden, the arena lights were switched off and the smoke started to come....then the came music.....donnngggggggggggggg......... ohh man....that is the undertaker music....we started shouting to the core after hearing this music.....
there.... we could undertaker walking towards the ring.....wowwww...it was one of my school days dreams to see him.....
he is usually called as dead man....as he used to come with coffins in his earlier days....(that was almost 8 years back :-) )
he was walking slowly with his theme music in the back ground and here we were virtually above the ground....for almost 2 minutes....
then he fought with Great Khale and Mark Henry(Called the world's strongest man)...
he won the match with his favourite move of catching the neck and throwing the opponent down...
that was the last match and we all were very happy to see him winning the match in a great style...
then we took some photos in the arena...by then it was almost midnight 12 and we started our way back home and reached by around 1 AM midnight :-)
we were almost in sleeping condition...but still wanted to see the photos/movies taken there....so we saw them and went to sleep by 2 AM midnight...
it was a wonderful night altogether and one of the days i had dreamt for almost 12 years :-)))

Living in US

Hi Dudes and Dudettes
me back...
this time me getting into living a life in US...We indians finish our studies for about 16 years and get a decent job in india and start working...
then we start worrying/thinking(atleast most) about how to earn/grow more...whether to move to a different MNC or ask for onsite chances in the current company or higher studies would help??...something like that....
let us see about the life style of many indians coming here in US( through Company)....people come here with a main aim of saving money...and in today's scenario....they are not able to save more than ,say, a lakh rupees per month...to do that they sacrifice a lot....save money by staying a clumsy place...with 6 or 7 guys together and with no car and no new electronic devices and something like that....
let us say they save money and earn around 30 lakhs rupees in around 3 years...they will think of buying a car/house for their parents/siblings back in india....they think that atleast their relatives in india can be happy by enjoying this money there...they all should give a strong thinking on the life style they are living in...and is it really worthwhile to sacrifice an entire 3-4 years here to buy a house there...afterall money is part of life and not everything...
the life they lost in their young age will not come again and they will worry about that after another 20 years...thinking of the wonderful life they have lost...
every individual might have his/her own personal needs...accepted...but still allocate some time/money to enjoy the beauty of US and the life style here...dont always try to save the money and send to india just to make sure that you will be happy after some years...we have to be happy today and plan for tomorrow...not suffer today and plan for tomorrow....
anyway all these are my individual comments and after seeing many different people in US for the past 10 months...

let us try to enjoy life everyday and not lose it today to be happy some other day...

regards,
shyam

what are we doing

nnshyam
hi there.
just wanted to try my first ever blog....
let me see how it is going....
well....lemme start with what is going on in most people's mind at my age or profession.
yes.it is about where you see yourself after years or may be 1o years.i too have talked to many and i would say most of them are unclear of what they will be after 5 years.few say they will be a project manager and a few say they will be a technical architect but mostly none has a clear plan of how to pursue about it.

most would not like to leave the job that they are right now in, which gives them at more than 30k per month and pursue higher studies.also most believe that distant education doesnt give them much jump in career.

so what to do?
what next step to be done?

till our college studies, it has been pretty straight forward.
you go along with everyone in choosing a school or college and then finally get placed in some big company.

but down the lane.after 3 years of working in a IT company, you start thinking really on what you are doing for the past 3 years.are we really doing what we are supposed to do?
did we study four long years of engineering to do this?
are we doing justice to what we have learnt?
learning about transistors and working here in dot net or java..does it really help you show to the world on what you can do?
is this what we are supposed to do?
i know most would say a hard and harsh 'NO'.

It is because we are all working here because of the software job craze and salary offers we all had when we finished engineering.
now what many people do is start an mba and do finance or hr or marketing and get into core business.

again doing injustice to the work experience to what we have been doing for 3 years.

so what should we do now?what is our interest?where can we do better?
can we become business magnets?
is it possible for us to get into iim or isb?

so we all should start thinking on where we would be after 5 or 10 years and whether we are going in that direction.

of course....even i am unclear on what i am going to do to achieve my goals(do i have one ? :-) that is a different question)

let us set our goals and start taking decisions towards that.
guess many would have the same doubts/confusion about their professional life like what i have.
let us see how we can achieve that.
